Alia Bhatt is seen playing the lead role in this film directed by Jasmeet K Reen. The special thing is that through this film released on OTT, Alia has also debuted as a producer. The audience had high expectations from this film of industry divas Alia and Shefali Shah. So has director Jasmeet’s reins been able to enter the hearts of the audience through ‘Darlings’ or not. what is the story
The story of ‘Darlings’ is based on a family living in the Muslim-dominated area of Old Mumbai. The two lovers get married and this is where ‘Darlings’ begins. Before marriage, the boy gets a job in the railways as a ticket collector. However, despite having a government job, the boy is harassed in his office. It has been shown in this film that how the boy living as a wet cat in the office is a lion in the house. He harass and bullies his wife-turned-girlfriend.
The girl also silently bears the harassment being done by her husband. But the twist in the story comes when the girl raises her voice against the atrocities being done to her. However, to teach a lesson to her husband, the girl does not resort to law, but decides to take revenge herself. During this, the girl’s mother also gives her full support. Meanwhile, another lover takes an entry in the story, this also exposes the mother’s past.
how is acting
From Alia to Shefali Shah and Vijay Verma, ‘Darlings’ has done tremendous acting. Alia plays the character of Badrunnisa in the film, in which she seems to be completely molded. Although the acting of the characters in the film is as strong, its story and direction are quite weak. Due to this the film has not been able to live up to the expectations of the audience.
